Employment Law Conference set

GREENEVILLE — The Greene County Human Resources Association along with Wimberly, Lawson, Daves & Jones Law firm will host the 11th Annual Employment Law Conference Aug. 16 from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Crescent School, 615 W. Main St., in Greeneville.
The conference will have instruction from representatives of Wimberly, Lawson, Wright, Daves & Jones, a full-service labor, employment, ERISA and immigration law firm representing management exclusively.
The conference is for anyone in a management, human resources or supervisory position striving to understand employment law. General topics included in the conference are: Year in Review, FLSA Hot Buttons and Enhanced Federal Enforcement, Labor NLRB Update, Unemployment Claims-Tactics and Strategies, ADAAA-Forget What You Always Knew, Independent Contractors-More Dangerous Than Ever, FMLA-Beyond the Basics and 2012 Update, Strategies for Hiring Criteria-Using Employment History/Credit Checks/Criminal Arrests/Convictions and the Like, and Documentation Do’s and Don’ts.
The HR Conference has been approved for 5.25 general recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
Cost per attendee is $85 and $70 for each additional attendee. The cost includes refreshments and lunch.
