Two people were being treated for stab wounds they received in separate attacks late Tuesday night.
Johnson City police were called to 510 Lamont St., Apt. 4, around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday for the first stabbing but were told on the way that another person had been stabbed near Hillcrest Drive and Hamilton Street.
The man at the Lamont apartment, who was not clearly identified in a police report describing the incidents, told police he armed himself with a knife to answer his door because he was unfamiliar with the person who knocked.
When he answered the door a man wearing a black ski mask pointed a rifle at him and demanded valuables, according to the report.
The victim in this attack began to struggle with the man with the rifle. There were two other men with the assailant, the victim said in the report. One of them had a knife and the victim was cut when he tried to take away the blade.
The report then jumps to the next unidentified victim, who said he was walking in the area of Hillcrest Drive when he was approached by a man who pulled out a knife, demanded money and began cutting him.
The site of the second stabbing is about a block away from the first stabbing.
No money or items were reported stolen from either attack.
Both victims were being treated at Johnson City Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries.
Police said no weapons were found at the scenes.
