WJHL's general manager is leaving the local CBS television affiliate to manage two competing stations based on Bristol.
Bonten Media Group announced today in a news release that Jack Dempsey had been named vice president/general manager of the group’s Tri-Cities operations, which encompass television stations WCYB –TV (NBC), and WEMT (FOX), along with related digital sub-channels and new media initiatives.
The appointment will be effective June 11. Dempsey has worked at WJHL in Tri-Cities for the past 27 years, the last 23 as president/general manager.

Bonten Media Group operates 31 full power, low power and digital television stations in eight markets. The group operates WEMT via agreements with Esteem Broadcasting, which owns the station.
