Early kickoff for UT-Ole Miss

The Southeastern Conference announced Monday that Tennessee’s Nov. 14 visit to Mississippi is being televised by CBS and kicks off at 11 a.m. central time. The telecast is part of a CBS doubleheader and marks UT’s third road game appearance on the network this season.

The Vols lead the series against the Rebels 43-18-1, having won the last 12 games. Tennessee is 3-0 all time in Oxford, with wins in 1951 (46-21), 1988 (20-12) and 2004 (21-17). Vols assistant head coach Ed Orgeron was the Ole Miss head coach in 2005 when UT defeated the Rebels 27-10 in Knoxville.

The true freshman from Lake Charles, La., also forced a fumble and contributed two pass breakups during the 31-13 victory.

Other honorees this week from the SEC are Mississippi State tailback Anthony Dixon (offense), Auburn cornerback Walt McFadden (defense), Florida placekicker Caleb Sturgis (special teams), Arkansas guard Mitch Petrus (offensive line) and Auburn end Antonio Coleman (defensive line).

Harrison was named the defensive player of the week, while Gregory garnered special teams tlayer of the week accolades.

A 6-1, 205-pound junior defensive back, Harrison recorded four tackles and two interceptions to lead the Pioneers to a 38-28 SAC win over Mars Hill.

Gregory, 6-2, 210-pound senior, averaged 49 yards on his four punts, pinning Mars Hill inside its 20-yard line each time — including two inside the 10. Three of his punts covered exactly 56 yards.
