Two Sean Hoek goals turned out to be the difference as the East Tennessee State men’s soccer team defeated Belmont 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Summers-Taylor Stadium.

The three points wrapped up the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Atlantic Sun tournament. The Bucs (5-8-3, 4-4-1 A-Sun) will host Lipscomb in the first round next weekend.

Tony Nunes put the Bucs up 1-0 in the 19th minute as he headed a cross from Mohsen Pourmorteza past the Belmont keeper.

ETSU extended its lead in the 25th minute as Hoek knocked the ball over the Belmont keeper.

Hoek picked up his second goal in the 58th minute, rocketing a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box into the back of the net.

Belmont got its lone goal in the 85th minute.
