ELIZABETHTON — It was a fairly flawless finish to a perfect Three Rivers Conference season.Elizabethton placed five players in double figures and punished Sullivan South 84-42 on Tuesday night at Treadway Gym.The Lady Cyclones wrapped up a 12-0 league mark while improving to 21-3 overall.“I would have never thought in October and November we would go undefeated in the league,” said Lady Cyclones’ head coach Len Dugger. “It’s just a huge tribute to those girls, the way they’ve worked hard and committed to getting better.“Coach (Richard) Hyder and Coach (Russ) Lyon have done a great deal. Coach Hyder is constantly working with those kids. He’s had a great impact.”Elizabethton worked out to a 17-7 lead in the first quarter, and quickly extended it to 29-13 midway through the second quarter.A late 8-0 run led to a 41-20 halftime lead, and there was no letup in the second half.Sarah Robinson was all over the place for the Lady Cyclones, and she finished with 10 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. The junior post said togetherness makes a difference for the Lady Cyclones.“I think we have a real close-knit team,” said Robinson. “That transfers to the court well and helps us play better. It spreads out the points and assists.”Dugger said Robinson played well in Monday’s win over Unicoi, and kept right on going against South.“I told her she did a good job last night, and tonight was even better,” said Dugger. “She elevated her game on both ends. She gets some tough rebounds.”South played an up-tempo game, and Elizabethton didn’t mind at all.“We definitely prefer it,” said Robinson. “We play a lot better in a faster-paced game. We made good passes and got open for each other.”Dugger said he was pleased with the way his team shared the basketball.“I was very pleased with how hard they played, and how unselfish they were,” said Dugger. “They shared the ball well.”Kelci Marosites led Elizabethton with 16 points while also totaling four assists and three steals. Kayla Marosites continued to rack up the steals, finishing with eight to go along with 15 points and three assists. Kalya has 27 steals in her last four games.Megan Pietrowski also had a nice effort with 12 points and seven rebounds.“Megan had one of her better games on both ends of the floor,” said Dugger.Melenda Perry knocked down a trio of treys and finished with 11 points.South got four 3-pointers and 18 points from Brayden Hutchins.
