INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Colts signed free agent defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin.
The Colts made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.
Franklin, who is 6-foot-1, 315 pounds, is a 10-year veteran who played most recently with San Diego last year. He’s a Johnson City native who played at Science Hill High School and the University of Tennessee.
He made nine starts for the Chargers and finished with 23 tackles. He was originally drafted by Baltimore in 2003, has four career sacks and is the eighth free agent Indy has signed from another team.
The signing continues the Colts’ free agency frenzy, which has netted them quite a few new starters, including safety LaRon Landry, offensive tackle Gosder Cherilus, guard Donald Thomas, backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, inside linebacker Erik Walden, cornerback Greg Toler and defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois.
