Johnson joins elite list with Las Vegas win

Allen Johnson became just the 15th different driver in NHRA Pro Stock history to score 10 national-event victories with his win in Sunday’s SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at Las Vegas.

The Greeneville driver was the 61st drag racer overall to hit the milestone and put his name alongside Top Fuel luminaries Connie Kalitta and Doug Herbert on the all-time win list. He also moved just one win behind Pro Stock legend Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, who died last week.

Johnson, 52, talked about being humbled to join such elite company. But his assault on the NHRA record books is far from being done.
