President Obama has accomplished much in four years despite the obstructions from Republicans. Their promise at the start of Obama’s first term was to make him a one-term president. To accomplish this, their goal has not been about what’s best for the country, but instead about gaining power. The following are facts:

Obama has recovered all the money used in the bank bailout bill of 2008 signed by President Bush, plus $13 billion in interest.

Regulations, transparency and restrictions have been put into effect on these bailout firms.

The Affordable Care Act did not and will not lead to a government takeover of health care. It put needed rules and regulations into the existing health insurance market, putting people and not insurance companies in charge of their health care.

Obama has not asked for new gun restrictions. Not one law-abiding citizen has had a gun taken away. In fact, under Obama, national parks and Amtrak have been opened to legal possession of guns.

The president absolutely believes in the First Amendment right to religious beliefs and is committed to religious freedom for all, and also the rights of all women, including access to contraceptives.

We elected Barack Obama as our new president and good things are happening. The economy is growing and no doubt would be growing much faster if some in Congress would represent the people, instead of the wealthy and special-interest groups.

Let’s change those anti-worker and anti-people senators and representatives so our nation can gain back its title as the greatest and most wonderful nation. Sen. Bob Corker voted to let the car company bailout die, which would cost 3,000 good- paying jobs in Tennessee alone.

Thanks to the president, General Motors has paid its loan and Osama Bin Laden is dead.
