I do not believe for one second that former Unicoi County Sheriff Kent Harris should be tried yet one more time. I think the voices of the people have been heard twice already. It is time to leave this alone and move forward.

We have lived here for six years. When we arrived, everyone we spoke to told us how safe Harris made this town and how many positive changes were made. We immediately knew that we would be safe and secure here. We never heard one bad thing.

We are sure that many things were taken out of context. Here is a man with deep love of God who wants nothing but to be of help to others.

We were flooded out a few years ago and we witnessed Kent rushing to help people evacuate their homes in a selfless way. He made sure that a disabled gentleman who lives near us was taken out safely. He also made certain that we were out of our home and safe.

A family next door to our own mentioned several times how Kent had helped them.

We ask that there not be a third trial.
