Thomas "Darren" Harvey

GASTONIA, NC - Thomas "Darren" Harvey, also known by his friends "Heavy D" went to be with the Lord June 11, 2018 after a length of health issues ending with Care from Hospice.

He was born in Johnson City, Tennessee and raised by wonderful Godly parents. He studied and became a Certified Culinary Chef, loving to cook for others. Enjoying life with laughter and a hug. He was a fan of Antique Mopar Cars. Always attending some car show whether near or far. He was a member of Life Church of God in Cramerton, NC, being a part of the Men's Ministry, Missions to Bulgaria, overseeing the feeding of 1,000 people during the Thanksgiving Holiday and many other church dinner events. In his last months he became a member of Crossfix Ministries of Cramerton, NC in which we were overwhelmed with their love during this season of our life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Devron Whitworth Harvey of Gastonia, NC; his beloved parents, Bill & Barbara Harvey of Johnson City, TN; brother, Gary and wife, Phyllis Harvey of Johnson City, TN; sister, Regina and husband, Ron Sells of Kingsport, TN; sister, Jennifer Harvey Story of Knoxville, TN; Uncle Bob and Aunt Janice of Jonesborough, TN; cousin, Steve Jones and his wife, Lisa of Unicoi, TN; nephews, Ashton Story, Gatlin Harvey; niece, Ariel Harvey; great-niece, Melody Harvey; and great-nephews, Layton and Riley Harvey.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 23 at 1:00PM at Skyline Heights Baptist Church, 1601 Skyline Dr., Johnson City, TN 37604. Burial will follow at the Harvey Family Cemetery.
