A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of Gordon “Pete” Effrick of Largo, FL and Amanda Coleman Holmes of Elizabethton and was born August 2, 2000. Destinee was a sophomore at Hampton High School and formerly attended Elizabethton High School where she was a member of the ROTC. She loved drawing and was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by an aunt, Gloria Rutter of Elizabethton; a sister, Emilee Effrick of Elizabethton; a brother, Isaiah Holmes of Elizabethton; paternal grandmother, Nadine Alice Effrick and husband, Gordon of Largo, FL; and maternal grandmother, Dorothy Norman and husband David, of Johnson City. She is preceded in death by an uncle, Chris Effrick and an aunt, Carlitta Effrick.
A service to celebrate the life of Destinee Tierra Effrick will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend Dennis Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday prior to the funeral service in the chapel and at the home of an aunt, Shelby Hamm, 1739 Southside Road, Elizabethton at other times.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital and to a special angel.
