Ken was a World War II veteran who served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he worked for Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport as a laboratory technician until his retirement. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed tinkering around the house.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Beulah and McKinley Ferguson and infant son, Anthony Wythe Ferguson.
Ken is survived by his wife of 69 years, Alethia Ferguson; daughter Lisa Ferguson; son Brian Ferguson and wife Karen; grandchildren Erik and Kelli Ferguson; sister Jewell Fox and husband Kenneth, and special friend Frank Purner.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 14 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 15, at 11:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Park in the garden of Hope with Pastor Gene Mermilliod officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 3/265.
