Jim was born and raised in Key, OH. He graduated from the College of Pharmacy at Ohio State University. After serving in the US Air Force as a Laboratory Officer for a hospital in Topeka, KS, he returned to Ohio and settled in Hilliard where he worked at and later acquired Wilbarger’s Pharmacy. Upon selling the pharmacy, Jim went to work for the Veterans Administration as a pharmacist until retirement as Chief of Pharmacy at the VA in Martinsburg, WV. Jim and his wife traveled around the world while working at the pharmacy. Jim was a member of Gray United Methodist Church and a devout Christian, he loved fishing, sports, gardening and flowers (gladioli were his favorite). Many were blessed by his big and generous heart.
Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife Carol of 58 years, his parents Fred and Wilma, brother, Freddie Rae Reynolds Jr., and sister, Alice Jeannette Hyde.
Jim is survived by his sons, Steven Reynolds, Brian Reynolds and wife Janet, Mark Reynolds; daughter, Elaine Wade and husband Shelton; sister, Audrey Lowman and husband Frank; grandchildren, Tiffany Bakich, Stephanie Jones and husband Jeramie, Amy Kiger and husband Kris, Jennifer Hines and husband Wes; two great grandsons and one great granddaughter.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Gray United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Dr. Dennis Flaugher and Rev. Amy Holmes officiating.
Private Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the entire staff at the Dominion Senior Living Center and the staff and nurses of the VA of Mountain Home.
