Earle A. Tucker - JOHNSON CITY

Earle A. Tucker, 93, 119 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009, in the Johnson City Medical Center.

He was a native of Louisville, Kentucky and had lived in Charlottesville, Virginia and Johnson City most of his life. Mr. Tucker was the son of the late, Joseph and Willamena Hausz Tucker. He retired in 1976 as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force. After retirement he worked for the Department of Defense and the Department of Transportation. Mr. Tucker was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charlottesville and attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Johnson City.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bette Kirby Tucker; three daughters, Elizabeth Vernier, Arlington, VA, Mary Lou Coletti and her husband, Bob, Johnson City and Katherine Ottmer and her husband, Steve, Corpus Christie, Texas; three sons, Joseph Earle Tucker and his wife, Elaine, Charlottesville, Forrest Lee Tucker and his wife, Mary Lynn, Roanoke, VA and Kirby E. Tucker and his wife, Susan, Tucson, Arizona; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Mr. Tucker will conducted 1:00 PM Monday, November 2, 2009, from the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military rites will be accorded by the VFW Boone Dam, Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 PM until service time.

Ella Mae Blevins Arrowood Greene - JOHNSON CITY

Ella Mae Blevins Arrowood Greene, 96, of Johnson City, passed away on October 31, 2009, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton.

Born in Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac L. and Mollie C. Elliot Blevins.

She was a member of University Parkway Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her first husband in 1977: L.F. Arrowood; second husband in 1985: R.T. Greene; four brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her sons: Lloyd F. Arrowood, Johnson City, Joseph L. Arrowood and wife Bobbie, Oak Ridge, Bill L. Arrowood and wife Peggy, Unicoi, Ted R. Arrowood and wife Susan, Tallahassee, FL; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday at Tetrick Funeral Services with Reverend Scott Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour. A graveside service will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be chosen from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of University Parkway Baptist Church.

Mr. Jack Wells, 95, 810 Forest Avenue, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009, in the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mary B. Fisher - JOHNSON CITY

Mary B. Fisher, 83, Johnson City, passed away quietly to meet her Lord on Sunday November 1, 2009, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Monte Lee and Rosa McKeehan Buck. She was a 1944 graduate of Happy Valley High School. She was a homemaker. Mrs Fisher did a lot of volunteer work at several different institutions. She was a member of the Brick Christian Church. She was an avid football fan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry E. Fisher in 1989.

Survivors include one son: Harry E. Fisher II of the home a grandson: Timothy B. Fisher of Charlotte, NC. One Brother: David Buck, Johnson City. Two Sisters: Anna B. Walker, Johnson City and June B. Pritchard, Montezuma, North Carolina. A number of loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Gerald Holly and Rev. Mack Houston officiating.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Marion Mottern. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday will be: Herb Curde, Benny Buck, Keith Buck, Cody Buck, Andrew Walker and Cory Walker. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a sister: Anna B. Walker.

To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs Fisher to the donors favorite charity.

Trula Troxell Hubbard - JOHNSON CITY

Trula Troxell Hubbard, 78, Johnson City, went home to be with her Lord Friday, October 30, 2009, at the North Side Hospital.

A native of Sullivan County, she was a daughter of the late Andy and Ethel Helton Troxell. She had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a homemaker. Mrs Hubbard loved to work in her flower garden and she also loved her cats and dogs that were always by her side. She was an active member of the Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: Earnest and Bill Troxell and four sisters: Cozette Younce, Leona Ray, Thelma Goforth and Juanita Roberts.

Survivors include two daughters: Sharon Hubbard, Johnson City and Sheila Hubbard, of the home Two Sons & Daughters-in-law: Sammy & Jewel Hubbard, Elizabethton and Larry & Sonia Hubbard, Johnson City. Two Sisters & Brothers-in-Law: Sylvia & Lynn Dugger, and Nola & Cecil Babb all of Johnson City. Six Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren, Several nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Joel Brown and Pastor Terry Horn officiating. The Eulogy will be given by Mr. Michael Bailey.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Roselawn Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Louie Blevins and the Younce Family. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family members. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Roger Wise - LIMESTONE

Roger E. Wise, age 67, passed away Friday, October 30, 2009, at John M. Reed Home Nursing Home.

He was a native of Florida and formerly of Kingsport.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Wise had no known survivors.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

Harry Ross Russell - PINEY FLATS

Harry Ross Russell, age 66, of 228 Piney Avenue, Piney Flats passed away Sunday, November 01, 2009, at his residence following a brief illness.

He was born in Carter County, TN to the late Henry and Kate Scalf Russell.

In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by three brothers, Luther, Herbert and Robert Russell and one sister, Helen Treadway.

Survivors include his wife, Nyoka Bryan Russell of the home, two daughters Vicki Gurney of Cumming GA, and Adrianna Potter of Bristol, TN; one son, Brandon Trevor Russell of Piney Flats, TN; two sisters, Ethel Barnett an Lela Davis both of Elizabethton, TN; one brother, Bill Russell of Elizabethton, TN and three grandchildren, Avery Gurney, Zoe Gurney and Kylie Snead.

The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Tetrick Funeral Home - Bluff City Chapel with Rev.Carl Grindstaff officiating. The family will recieve friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday prior to the service in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.

The graveside service and interment will be at 10 A.M., Wednesday, November 4 at Morning View Cemetary. Minister, Paulbearers, Family and Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 A.M. Active pallbearers will be Rodnesy Wysong, Joshua Plank, Jarrod Curtis, Joshua Cole, Trevor Russell, Avery Gurney, Sam Lyons and Jerry Lyons.
