Mrs. Mildred Geneva Bennett, age 83, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Ringgold, Georgia.

Mrs. Bennett was a native of Sycamore, Georgia, and daughter of the late Willie C. & Burma Hale Nesmith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bennett was also preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Bennett Sr.; and one sister, Gladys Stone.

Survivors include two daughters, Christy Gambrell, Jonesborough, and Freida Whitaker Coleman, Ringgold, GA; one son, Marcus Bennett Jr., Onley, Ill; special son-in-law, Terry Coleman; grandchildren, Jonathan Gambrell, Sarah Gambrell, Nicola Bennett, Vonda Hill; and several great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Davis officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Jonesborough. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
