
Shirley Mae Young, 76, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013, in the Hermitage Health Care following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Sherman and Cleo Mae Watson. She was a retired LPN. Mrs. Young was a member of the Riverside Community Church of Jesus.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kenneth Young, in 1987; Two sisters, Sheila Guinn and Betty Jones; and two brothers, Horace Watson and Gene Watson.
Survivors include two daughters: Kathy Bowers, Hampton, and Tina McKeever, Powell, Tenn.; Five Grandchildren: Jimmy Bowers, Taylor Isaacs, Abigail Isaacs, Sabrina Kahn and Stacy Rounds; Four Great Grandchildren: Haley, Hannah, J.J. and Tyler; Four Step-Sisters: Sharon Slagle and husband, Buck, Shavonne Roberts and husband, Eddie, Sarae Williams and husband, Wesley, and Sherry Estep and husband, Edward Dean Estep, Kingsport; A Brother-in-law: Ronnie Guinn, Elizabethton; Several Nieces & Nephews.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ben Johnson officiating. Music will be provided by Johnny Patterson and Whispering Heart.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Jim Bowers, Taylor Isaacs, James Young, Mark McKeever and Freda Bradshaw, Kay Hardin, Michela Maine and Elenora Cable.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter Kathy Bowers, 165 Spring Street, Apt. 1, Hampton.
