David Ralph Oliver, age 59, of Bluff City, TN passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Wellmont Hospice House.

He was the loving son of the late Ralph Brown and Mary Morrell Oliver.

He worked for Bristol Steel and American Longwall and was a lifelong blacksmith of the Appalachian Area Chapter and Bristol Forge of Rocky Mount.

Survivors include two daughters, Lee and Milly, and one son, Will; Uncle, Eddie Morrell and wife, Ruth; Aunt, Helen Oliver; and many friends including, Peg, Randal, Scott, Dave, Jimmy, Chris.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 11, 2013, at Akard Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Oxendine officiating.

The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday at Weaver Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Walker, Jamie Tyree, Charlie Harmon, Randy McAninch and Doug Merkel.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday prior to the service.
