Harry Eleas

Harry E. Eleas, age 88, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Harry was born September 23, 1924 in Alea, Greece, a son of the late Eleas and Helen Kapourales Eleas. As a young man, in Greece, Harry was a shepherd, and later served in the Greek Army, after World War II. After coming to America in 1951, he lived in Williamson, West Virginia, where he worked with his cousins and uncles in several restaurants. He later made his home in Bristol, where he became owner/operator of The Virginia Café and later, Athen’s Steak House. Harry enjoyed farming and loved his assorted animals. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Harry E. Eleas, Jr.

Survivors include: His wife of 60 years: Betty Speropulos Eleas Children: Louie Eleas, Daughter-in-Law: Suzanne Eleas, Daughter: Georgea Green & husband Paul, Chris Eleas & wife Kelly, Harry H. Eleas & Special Friend Christy Cain Grandchildren: Jonathan, Chris, Austin, Maria, Alexandra, Abigail, Sarah and Tucker Sisters: Lula, Despina and Angelo Several Nieces and Nephews.

The funeral service for Mr. Eleas will be held at 1PM Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 150 Elizabeth Ann Circle, Bluff City, TN 37618, with Father Anthony Stratis officiating. The committal service and interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6PM to 8PM Tuesday, at Weaver Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
