John “Shag” Graham Jr., age 65, Little Cassi Creek Road, Chuckey, the South Central community, died Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a former employee of TRW and retired from Superior Metal Products.
Mr. Graham was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, where he was an assistant Sunday school teacher
Survivors include: wife of 39 years: Marcella Ann Ward Graham; one daughter and son-in-law: Alicia and Michael Holley, of Chuckey; a sister: Millie “Mildred” Grindstaff, of Chuckey; two nieces: Sandra Crockett and Connie Stewart; four nephews: John Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Allen Garland and David Crockett; special friend: John and Bethany Orr; and children, and Brandy Faulkner and Jimmy Hilton; very special friend: Kyle Penley.
He was the son of the late John and Bethel Duncan Graham and was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Garland and Margaret Crockett.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. John Buchanan will officiate.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Carl Duncan, Henry Mathes, Kyle Penley, Johnny Mack Brown, Stan Bailey, Jerry Broyles, Ricky Foster and Bo Duncan. Honorary pallbearers will be: his nephews and the men of Liberty FWB Church.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour preceding the service on Sunday.
