Mr. Richard Collins, age 76, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012, in the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Collins was a native of Newark, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Byrdie Collins and Anna Macon Collins.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Richard White; step daughter, Theresa Ferguson; five brothers, Byrdie Collins, Albert Collis, William Johnson, John Collins and Charles Collins; one sister-in-law, Peggy Ferguson; one sister, Helen Collins; one grandson, Richard White Jr.

He is survived by his significant other, Phyllis Ferguson, of the home; two step sons, Patrick Ferguson, of Ohio, and Greg Ferguson, of New Jersey; one sister, Rosa Lee Martin, of Newark, New Jersey; sisters-in-laws, Juanita Collins of New Jersey, Shirley Collins, of South Carolina, Brenda Ferguson, of Johnson City, and Tracey Britt, of Johnson City; three brothers-in-laws, Rickey Ferguson, Joe Ferguson and Robin Britt; several grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Mr. Richard Collins will be conducted at 1 PM Friday, October 5, 2012, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Roy Ferguson will officiate.

The graveside committal service will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 PM Friday prior to the service.
