Rogersville woman charged with TennCare fraud

ROGERSVILLE — A Hawkins County woman has been arrested for TennCare fraud after allegedly "doctor shopping" to acquire a painkiller, using the state's insurance program to pay for the drugs.

Lisa Faye Burchfield, 54, of 1712 East Main Street, # C, Rogersville, was arrested Wednesday by the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office. A warrant for her arrest was obtained following an her indictment by a grand jury.

A press release from the state says Burchfield, "is accused of fraudulently using TennCare to obtain controlled substances by seeing more than one doctor in order to get prescriptions for the painkiller Hydrocodone, and using TennCare to pay for the drugs."
