KINGSPORT — A Kingsport man has been arrested after allegedly cutting himself on the wrist following an argument with his girlfriend, but telling police he suffered the wound while being robbed at knife point.

Ryan Chase Hart, 26, of 405 Rich Drive, has been charged with filing a false police report. Kingsport police report that at 5 a.m. Tuesday Hart called authorities to 1025 Bloomingdale Drive, and was located with a "severe laceration" to his wrist.

Hart reportedly told police he was outside smoking when approached and robbed by a black male. He allegedly claimed to have had $300 stolen in the incident—with his assailant attempting to cut his neck with a knife. Hart said he blocked the knife with his left arm and sustained the laceration to his wrist.
