CHURCH HILL — The name of a woman killed in a house fire late Friday night hadn’t been released as of Sunday to give a forensic pathologist time to confirm her identity.
Hawkins County Sheriff Ronnie Lawson said Sunday the fatal fire that occurred in a mobile home at 211 Big Elm Road shortly before midnight Friday was likely electrical and occurred near the hot water heater.
Lawson said the female victim’s two companions gave authorities the woman’s name, but he said he won’t release the name publicly until it is confirmed by a pathologist.
