The preliminary hearing for a Science Hill High School senior accused of having a gun and drugs at school earlier this week was reset during a brief court appearance Thursday.

Benjamin Neis-Eldridge, 18, is charged with carrying a prohibited weapon on school property and simple possession of marijuana. School resource officers found the items after school officials became suspicious because Neis-Eldridge was wearing a trench coat all buttoned up.

Neis-Eldridge is still jailed on an $11,000 bond. His family hired Russell Kloosterman to represent him, but the attorney was unable to attend court Thursday. Sessions Judge Robert Lincoln reset the preliminary hearing for Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
