ELIZABETHTON — An evacuation caused by a gas leak in Elizabethton has reportedly been canceled.

Homes near the intersection of North Main and East C streets were evacuated as a precaution, according to an emergency 911 dispatcher.

Reports of an evacuation in progress began coming in around 9:40 a.m. Everything was clear as of 10:40 a.m., and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
