SEVIERVILLE — A 13-year-old boy faces charges of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old Sevier County girl after removing her from her yard and taking her into woods, Sevier County authorities said.
The teenager was arrested Monday following an extensive search after the victim was kidnapped Saturday, only to emerge later that night with a story of being assaulted, according to a news release Tuesday from Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals.
Authorities were first alerted Saturday by the young girl’s mother, after her 4-year-old son said that his sister had walked away with a man while the two children were playing in their backyard in the Northview/Kodak community, the release states.
“The mother went outside and started yelling for her daughter,” the release reads. “(The daughter) came out of some woods behind the home with a rope tied around her wrist and partially clothed and told her mother that the man sexually assaulted her.”
