Police arrested a Telford man early Sunday morning on reckless endangerment and evading arrest charges after he fled a traffic stop in east Johnson City, police said in a news release.

Nathan Smith, 24, 120 Methodist Ridge Road, Telford, was arrested after an attempted traffic stop at Smith Street and Woodlyn Road, police said.

Smith was charged with not having a valid driver’s license, evading arrest, two counts of reckless endangerment, running a stop sign, and violation of the financial responsibility law.

He was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $12,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Monday.

Just a question that often crosses my mind. Is there anyone left in the state of Tennessee or Washington Co. that even has a valid drivers license anymore? Me, i can drive just as good as anyone else without license, and better than most with them. Especially the ones with phones in there faces every second of every day.

If you drive like you should you will not lose your licenses.,They lose them because they do not obey the laws. They always think they are above the law, then a lot of times they wind up killing an innocent person. There is no excuse for them.

I don't care if you have a license, but you better have insurance.

I sarcastically hope I don't hurt anyone's feelings by saying this.

There are certain people who don't need a license because they DON'T HAVE JOBS. I need a license so I can go to work and pay my bills and pay my taxes so these people can eat better than I do. Who cares if you have a license if you don't have to drive to the mailbox to pick up your government check? The mailman should start delivering steak to their doorstep and save paper.

"Unemployed" refers to those who are actively seeking jobs but unable to find work. Those I am referring to are not in this category because they aren't currently looking for a job. Their only duty is to check the mailbox. If you fall into the unemployed category, then yes... you and your cat deserve lunch.

That's not true, the leeches on society don't even have to check the mailbox anymore, they just swipe their EBT cards at convenient stores to buy junk food these days... Pretty pathetic that they are GIVEN more than I make on a monthly basis...!
