City woman charged with passing forged checks

A Johnson City woman was arrested Wednesday following an investigation where stolen check were passed at two local banks, according to a police press release.

According to the release, Jamie Lynn Hicks, 32, 2357 Lakewood Drive, was charged after she allegedly stole checks from a residence and then passed the checks, that were made payable in her name, at Bank of America, 2105 N. Roan St. and Peoples Bank, 300 Sunset Drive on Jan. 3.

She was charged with six counts of forgery, identity theft and theft of property over $1,000.

Hicks was being held on $32,000 bond in the Washington County Detention Center.

She was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court today at 1:30 p.m.
