Bristol man charged after passing counterfeit check

A Bristol man was arrested Tuesday following an investigation into a counterfeit check that was passed at a local grocery, according to a police press release.

According to the release, George B. Wesley, 942 Anderson St., was charged with criminal simulation after he allegedly passed a counterfeit payroll check at Food City, 125 Judge Gresham Road on Jan. 14.

The check was made payable to Wesley, he used his Tennessee identification to cash the check and he was also identified on the store surveillance system.

He was taken to Washington County Detention Center and was being held on $10,000 bond.

Wesley is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court today for arraignment.
