Johnson City police arrested a man Friday who was wanted on charges in Mississippi after stopping his vehicle on Winter Street because he was playing the radio too loud.

According to a Johnson City Police Department press release, officers stopped Moses Michael Dillon Jr., 30, 317 Wilson Ave., for the excessively loud radio. When asked for his ID, Wilson provided a Mississippi Identification Only card.

A records check revealed he was wanted in Mississippi for multiple felony charges, including possession for resale of marijuana, possession of a firearm and burglary of a building.

Dillon was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was awaiting extradition to Mississippi. He also was charged with being a fugitive from justice and loud radio. He was being held on $25,000 bond on those charges and will be arraigned in Sessions Court on Monday at 9 a.m.

I am shocked ! I cannot believe that a JC police officer, actually pulled a car over for an "excessively loud radio." I believe this must be a first for the city. I live on a corner lot, and the cars that come by my house with their radios blaring so loud. That they can be heard over my tv inside, even though my double pane windows are closed. I would really like to know why I see and hear cars radios blaring everyday, and even when they drive past police patrol cars. They are never pulled over and fined ? Anyone ?
