Drug charge placed after traffic stop

A Johnson City man was arrested Thursday for drug possession following a traffic stop, according to a police news release.

According to the release, Shaquille C. Williams, 402 Ketron Lane, was stopped by police for a light law violation. A search of his vehicle revealed 28.7 grams of marijuana.

Williams was charged with possession of schedule VI drugs with the intent to resell and was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $10,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on Monday.
