A former public transportation driver pleaded guilty Tuesday to several charges that he had sex with a juvenile while taking the boy to a youth treatment center.
Michael Dave Pike, 58, entered the best-interest plea on four counts of aggravated statutory rape in exchange for a two-year sentence.
Pike received two years on each count, but the plea agreement allows the sentences to be served concurrently.
Assistant District Attorney Ken Baldwin told Judge Jon Kerry Blackwood that Pike, who drove a bus for NET Trans at the time, had consensual sex with the teen on four occasions during trips from the boy’s home to Steppenstone Youth Treatment Center in Limestone.
According to court records in the case, the first incident between Pike and the teen occurred in October 2011.
The victim told Washington County Sheriff’s Investigator Jared Taylor that Pike pulled off the road near the Washington College campus and into a secluded area.
Once stopped, Pike “persuaded the victim to perform oral sex on him.”
After that, Pike drove on to Steppenstone and dropped the teen off. On another occasion when Pike was taking the juvenile home from Steppenstone, he’s accused of stopping in a cornfield near Adams and Corby Road.
According to Taylor’s report, Pike gave the victim a condom, told him to put it on and ordered the teen to perform sex.
A third incident is also documented, according to Taylor’s affidavit.
There is no indication how old the victim is, but Steppenstone is a comprehensive youth treatment center that serves adolescent boys ages 12-17.
Pike has been in custody since his arrest in January 2012.

I do not understand how these sexual encounters could be described as "consensual." The juvenile is below the age of consent, and persuading and ordering the juvenile to perform sex acts does not sound very consensual to me.

This bus driver will serve his time and get out and go on his happy way and the under age kid will live with this fear the rest of his life not to be able to trust anyone. I hope the bus driver will get his ego met in prison because the prisoners don1t take a liken to some one like that.
