A Johnson City man police tried to stop reportedly fled and was then subdued with a Taser at his home.

According to a Johnson City police news release, officers tried to stop Cecil D. Carver, 41, 205 Fairridge Road, around 10:20 Monday night after someone called 911 to report a possible drunk driver.

Police found a car matching the description given by the caller near the intersection of Indian Ridge Road and Fairridge. The driver turned off his lights and evaded police, according to the release.

Police later found Carver at his home. Police said Carver resisted arrest and was subdued with a stun device before being taken into custody.

He was charged with felony evading arrest and a 10th offense of driving on a revoked license.

Carver was taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $12,000 bond.

He was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Tuesday.

Lock him up and throw away the key before he kills someone! It is morally reprehensible that this drunk is out there driving around whenever he feels like it. We need tougher DUI laws and judges who will enforce them.

It never fails, no matter what happens someone has to try to blame the president for it. Try blaming the local republican judges that you keep electing . Thats who keeps letting drunks like this back out on the roads.

I don't like the idea of putting a person like this in jail,he's no threat of crime other than killing some one while drunk driving. If he's in jail taking up space it's costing us money.I think a good thing to do with a person is brake all his fingers one at a time so then he can't hold the steering wheel or a can of beer! Then if he does it again either cut fingers off or break his wrist!!

No insurance, no license, and if he hit one of us, it would be on our dollar! The judges, republican or democrat neither had done anything to solve this problem. I just hope something done before he kills someone.

"he's no threat of crime other than killing some one while drunk driving." King, do you realize how absurd your statement is? Would you like to volunteer to be the first victim? This clown has had more than a few chances to clean up his act. Obviously he doesn't want to so if we aren't going to force people into drug and alcoholic treatment and then monitor their every move to make sure they don't relapse, we need to take away their freedom. As someone who lost a sibling via a car accident, I can't comprehend your callous attitude. Probably nearly every time this idiot takes the wheel there's the threat of him commiting the henious crime of vehicular homicide!
