The Boys & Girls Club of Johnson City/Washington County is selling tickets and seeking sponsorships for a benefit dinner with former University of Tennessee coach Phil Fulmer planned for Jan. 24 at Holiday Inn.

Billed as “an evening of food, fun and fellowship,” the club’s “One Campaign Champions’ Dinner” will include a dinner speech and question-and-answer session with Fulmer and entertainment by local country music artist Trey Hensley. Event sponsors also will be invited to a one-hour VIP meet and greet with Fulmer to be held prior to the dinner.

“January is the time of year when we celebrate new beginnings and recognize, after the season of Thanksgiving and Christmas cheer, just how blessed we are,” said Robin Crumley, chief professional officer for the Boys & Girls Club. “We have served the Tri-Cities area since 1944 and this evening will allow us the opportunity to honor past, present and future champions and leaders in our community. We will also share what is happening for the future of our club.”

Crumley said the club’s mission is to inspire and enable young people to reach their full potential and the dinner provides community members a chance to help the club make positive changes in the lives of the children it serves.

“Events like this help fund our efforts and we greatly appreciate your participation. Your sponsorship will be the gift that helps turn our thoughts into action within our community. We all can make a difference in the lives of our youth,” Crumley said.

“Coach Fulmer is a great example of a devoted leader who led the Tennessee Vols to the national championship in 1998. His recent induction into the College Football Hall of Fame highlights his commitment to the game and to the youth he mentored.”

Proceeds from the dinner will go to club operations and to a capital campaign to facilitate the club’s move to a new location or renovations to its existing facility on West Market Street.

Tickets to the dinner are $100. Seating is limited and those who wish to attend are encouraged to make reservations early. Sponsorship opportunities start at $250.
