A Unicoi man was arrested last week by the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department for allegedly growing marijuana in his home.
Josh T. Wall, 22, 308 Buffalo Mountain Lane, was charged with resisting stop/frisk/halt, maintaining a dwelling where drugs are used/sold, evidence tampering, manufacture of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Frank Rogers said on Dec. 20, investigators received a tip regarding the smell of marijuana coming from the floor on which Wall lived and that Wall may be growing marijuana in his apartment.
“Investigators checked the utility bills and found that his was elevated more than three times what the average utility bill there was, which is indicative of marijuana manufacturing indoors,” Rogers said.
Investigators went to Wall’s residence and, after searching the residence, found a “pickup truck load” of grow canopies, a ventilation system, grow lights and other items indicating a marijuana grow operation, Rogers said. Rogers said investigators also recovered 1.93 pounds of marijuana that had been packaged for sale.
The marijuana, manufacturing equipment and Wall’s vehicle were seized by the sheriff’s department, Rogers said.
Wall was taken into custody and is out of jail on a $30,000 corporate bond. He is scheduled to appear in Unicoi County Sessions Court on Feb. 7.

That bond is typical no matter how arbitrary. This is another example of checks and balances out of order, I mean it's a victimless crime and now he has been imposed a serious and costly submission by by means of extortion. They should be ashamed of the encroachment on this man's individual rights.

If they correctly choose a jury trial and thier lawyer informs the jury of their right to not convict based only upon their sense of justice, these folks can walk free. Inform your neighbors. http://www.leap.cc/

It’s hard to believe there are still places where marijuana growers and entrepreneurs are treated as major, dangerous criminals.
