A Unicoi woman was charged in Johnson City Wednesday with stealing gold coins.

The charge placed against Leisa Lynn Bernardi, 56, 200 Roller Road, Unicoi, was theft of property over $10,000, according to a Johnson City police news release.

Police said the gold coins were reported taken from 862 Med Tech Parkway.

Bernardi was found at her home and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where she was being held on $10,000 bond.

Her hearing was scheduled for Thursday in Sessions Court.
