ROGERSVILLE — A Knoxville man who called the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Sunday to reclaim about 20 dogs that were rescued Saturday from the Short Mountain forest fire has been charged with dogfighting and cruelty to animals.
Firefighters located the suspected dogfighting operation Saturday evening west of Rogersville as the forest fire line began descending down the south side of Short Mountain at Tater Hill Road.
The property was located about 300 feet from the top of the mountain in an area accessible only by four-wheel drive vehicles. It belongs to Hawkins County native Charvez Nelson Francisco, 50, 3820 Proffit Lane, Knoxville.

Hasn't the Michael Vick saga taught anything? Lock him up and make sure he never owns (or invests in) a dog.

The man did not have enough sense to realize anyone claim9ing 1 but 20 of those animals obviously had been neglecting them, dog that are used in fighting are purposely chained, left unfed, and get no effection, read up on dog fighting it is very sad and cruel how people treat animal for a dollar
