WISE, Va. — The Wise County Grand Jury on Wednesday indicted the mother of a slain 2-year-old girl, and the mother's boyfriend, on murder and other charges in connection with the girl's death.

Emma Marie Baldwin was transported to the University of Tennessee's medical center in Knoxville Oct. 19 and later died. Wise County Chief Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney Adrian Collins said the girl's mother, Brandie Baldwin, 29, and Juwan Moore, 30, were being transported by mid-Wednesday afternoon to the Wise County Courthouse for an arraignment hearing before Circuit Judge Chadwick Dotson.

Collins said the grand jury indicted Moore on one count of capital murder and two counts of felony child abuse. Capital murder is punishable by death in Virginia.
