Police say man stabbed other multiple times

BRISTOL, Va. –– A Bristol man turned himself in to police Friday for stabbing another person multiple times and then fleeing the scene, according to a Bristol Va. Police Department news release.

According to the release, police were investigating a stabbing that occurred Thursday at 2464 Bradley St., where they found William Ray Mounce, 41, with multiple wounds in front of the residence.

Witnesses told police that Jerico Scott Moore was the person who stabbed Mounce and then ran.

Police were unable to find Moore until he showed up at the Bristol, Va., Jail around 11:45 a.m. He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and held without bond pending a court hearing Monday.

Mounce was taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center on Thursday and underwent surgery for his wounds. According to the release, Mounce was stabbed five times and his condition is unknown.

Officers said they are uncertain of what prompted the incident and no weapon was recovered. No other arrests have been made.
