A Chuckey man was charged in connection with forging stolen checks.

Johnson City police Monday charged Benjamin T. Wood, 39, 540 Bethany Road, Chuckey, with one count of forgery under $500 and two counts of theft of property under $500.

Police said the stolen checks were passed in Johnson City.

Wood was being held in the Washington County Detention Center on $3,000 bond.

He was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court today.
