A Limestone man was arrested Saturday after police responded to a call about a domestic disturbance, according to a police press release.

According to the release, when officers arrived at 1901 E. Watauga Ave. the victim told police that she and Brandon R. Ward, 24, had been fighting and that he twisted her fingers and strangled her.

Ward, who had fled the scene was later located and arrested after a brief foot chase.

He was charged with aggravated assault and evading arrest and was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where he was being held on $6,000 bond.

Ward is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Monday.
