A Johnson City man was charged with burglarizing a vehicle and using a debit card that was not his, according to police.

Police said officers were called to 2076 Sawyers Pond Dr., where the victim said someone stole her debit card after she dropped her car off for service at Chaparral, according to a police news release.

Police said Jeremy P. Haynes, 31, 1507 Bell Ridge Road, Apt. 16, activated the victim’s debit card and withdrew cash from ATMs across Johnson City.

He was charged with auto burglary, identity theft and five counts of fraudulent use of a credit/debit card.

Haynes was being held in the Washington County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.

His hearing was scheduled for Friday in Sessions Court.
