Heck no, they won't go … to school without their flip-flops.
The first day of school at Franklin High School could kick off with an act of civil disobedience. Hundreds of students are threatening to show up to class wearing flip-flops, despite a new school dress code that bans the popular footwear from school grounds.
"Banishing flip flops is a dumb policy to put in place at a public school," reads the rallying cry of the "Flip Flop Day" Facebook group, which has more than 200 students committed to wearing the contraband footwear to class when school starts on Aug. 12.
