ELIZABETHTON — An investigation of a stolen Tennessee walking horse had a happy ending. Investigator Jan Black of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department said it was not a case of horse thieves, but one of normal animal behavior.

The mare was reported stolen from its Keenburg field last week by its owner, John Davis. Black searched throughout the county after receiving the report.

When she got back to her desk, she said she received a call from a horse owner in Lacy Hollow, who said he found the missing horse keeping company with his stallion.

Black said the walking horse traveled between three and five miles.
