Eastman spills 2,150 gallons of acetic acid into Holston River, kills fish

KINGSPORT — An accidental spill at Eastman Chemical Co. last week apparently killed an undetermined number of fish.

Eastman Chemical spokeswoman Wanda Valentine said the spill occurred a week ago, when 2,150 gallons of acetic acid were accidentally released from the plant into a discharge channel leading to the Holston River.
