The driver of this Ford Escort walked away uninjured Monday afternoon after another driver crossed into his lane and ran him off the road, according to Washington County Sheriff’s Lt. Danny Rhudy.

Clarence G. Johnson, 54, of Telford was traveling toward Jonesborough on Old State Route 34 near Judge Vines Road when Joseph Hammett, 19, of Jonesborough, traveling the opposite direction, drifted into the oncoming lane.

Rhudy said Johnson ran off the road trying to avoid the collision, but the two vehicles sideswiped and Johnson’s car overturned. Neither driver was injured.
