Carter Democrats to hold reorganization meeting Saturday morning

ELIZABETHTON — The Carter County Democratic Party will hold a biennial reorganization convention to elect new officers on Saturday, March 25, at 10 a.m. The meeting will take place at the Carter County Courthouse, 801 E. Elk Ave.

Local Democrats will elect a new chairman, vice chairman or chairmen, secretary, treasurer, communications director and the executive committee for Carter County. The positions are for two-year terms.

Also, the party’s agenda and events for 2017-18 will be discussed. During reorganization, attendees will evaluate the effectiveness of their county party’s bylaws and leadership.

The convention is open to all Carter Democrats and/or registered voters seeking to see new leadership elected to local, state and national offices and support Democratic values. Attendees should arrive early to complete credentialing forms and be admitted to the convention prior to meeting.
