Knox man held on $1 million bond in road rage shooting

KNOXVILLE — Authorities have charged a Northeast Knox County man in connection with a road rage shooting and are holding the 61-year-old suspect on more than $1 million bond.

Rodney Lee Scott of 2705 Mary Emily Lane is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, one charge of attempted assault and leaving the scene of an accident. His total bond was set at $1,0010,00.

“Other charges are pending awaiting outcome of blood alcohol tests,” a news release from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office states.

Scott is accused of shooting Tyler Lakin, 23, of Knoxville three times in the back and once in a wrist about 4 p.m. Monday, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Scott “continued to shoot Lakin as he lay in the road,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.
