DRUMMONDS — Deputies in West Tennessee have fatally shot a man after police say he brandished a weapon.

The Commercial Appeal reports deputies with the Tipton County Sheriff's Office fired on 26-year-old Jake Ramsey Maese-Murphy on Saturday after he came at them screaming with a gun.

A statement from the sheriff's office says deputies had gone to the home in Drummonds to check on a possible probation violation by another man when Maese-Murphy appeared behind the home with a knife. The statement said deputies used a Taser on him, but he pulled out the probes, ran to the back of the house and returned with a gun.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the shooting.
